Company Profile

Our Formation:

BCLR's inception in September 1993 preceded South Africa's political freedom by some six months. The firm was premised on fundamental synergies: a common vision to develop a differentiated corporate law firm offering specialised knowledge, superior, personalised service and added value; and, a united belief among the founding partners in the potential of a free, globally incorporated South Africa.

We are delighted that the political and economic evolution of the company and the growth of the firm in the years following have affirmed these early assumptions.

Our Expertise:

We specialise in a range of legal disciplines critical to corporate clients. In each focus area, we offer recognised intellectual leadership and proven commercial acumen, with creative thinking core to our approach. Our ability to understand the rapidly evolving local and regional business environment enables us to assist local clients in the pursuit of global objectives and foreign clients in the structuring and development of their local interests.

Our Clients:

We service a broadly based multinational corporate client base. Our ability to provide optimal outcomes is founded on long standing relationships with our clients. With an intimate understanding of their businesses and strategic objectives, we believe we help them to succeed.

Our Network:

We are the South African member firm of Interlaw, an international association of more than sixty independent law firms in one hundred and twenty business centres worldwide. Interlaw gives our clients direct access to competent and readily accessible local lawyers in all major trade centres. Members of our firm also belong to various international legal associations and play leading roles in the International Bar Association.
